Accessibility Statement
Effective date: September 22, 2025
Marian Hornsby Fine Art (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and apply best practices in usability and inclusive design across mhornsbyfineart.com (the “Site”).
If you experience any difficulty using the Site, please contact us via EMAIL. We’ll respond as quickly as possible, typically within 2 business days.
Our Accessibility Measures
We design, build, and review the Site with the following measures in mind:
-
Structure & semantics: Clear headings, lists, tables, and landmarks; meaningful link text; use of ARIA only when needed.
-
Keyboard access: All interactive elements (menus, forms, buttons, dialogs) are intended to be operable via keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators and logical tab order.
-
Color & contrast: Text and interactive elements target WCAG AA contrast; information is not conveyed by color alone.
-
Images & media: Informative images include alt text; decorative images are marked accordingly. Videos (if used) include captions and, when needed, transcripts.
-
Text & layout: Content supports zoom to 200%+ without loss of functionality; responsive layouts avoid horizontal scrolling on common breakpoints.
-
Forms & feedback: Labels, instructions, and error messages are programmatically associated; status messages are announced to assistive technologies.
-
Motion & flashing: We avoid content that flashes more than 3 times per second and provide ways to pause/stop non-essential motion.
-
Consistent navigation: Repeated components are presented consistently to support predictable browsing.
Platform & Third-Party Services
Our Site is built on Wix, which supplies core templates and components. We also use:
-
Payments: Apple Pay and Google Pay (via Wix Payments), major credit/debit cards, and PayPal.
-
Analytics: Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the experience.
We work to select reputable providers and configure them accessibly; however, some accessibility aspects of third-party widgets, iframes, or checkout flows are outside our direct control. If any third-party step is difficult to use, please email us—we can provide alternative ways to complete your purchase (e.g., emailed invoice or phone-assisted checkout) and will raise issues with the provider.
Browser & Assistive Technology Compatibility
The Site is designed to function with the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on modern operating systems, and with current screen readers and built-in platform tools (e.g., VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA). Some older browsers or devices may not receive full support.
Alternative Access & Assistance
If you need content in an alternative format (large print, plain-text email, or audio description of a piece), or assistance completing a purchase or commission request:
-
Email marianhornsbypainter@gmail.com with your request and preferred format.
-
For purchase help, include the artwork or print title, size, and shipping address; we can generate a secure invoice payable via your preferred method.
Ongoing Testing & Improvements
We conduct periodic reviews that include:
-
Automated checks for common issues (contrast, alt text, ARIA usage, headings).
-
Manual testing with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader spot checks.
-
Content workflows that prompt for alt text, captions, and descriptive link labels.
We track reported issues, prioritize fixes based on user impact, and re-test before closing items.
Known Limitations
While we strive for WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, the following may present challenges at times:
-
Embedded third-party content (e.g., social feeds, maps, payment iframes).
-
Legacy documents or images that may lack complete alt text or tagging.
-
User-generated text (e.g., comments, form submissions) which we don’t control.
If you encounter a problem, tell us the page URL, the issue, and (if possible) your browser/device/assistive tech. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and address high-impact issues as quickly as feasible.
Feedback & Contact
We welcome your feedback on accessibility and usability.
